What's in my bag?

It’s a weird obsession, but I enjoy seeing what other women have in their purses. Do you also carry five different pens that you might’ve stol—borrowed from some restaurant because the other four just didn’t write like THAT one? and Yes, I do need all five lipsticks. Half the time I’m not sure what dictates a “yes, i’ll take the paper copy receipt” versus “no, thanks” Can anyone relate with me?

Somewhere between the crumbs from snacks i’ve stuffed in there (Yes, I’ve stuffed croissants in my Saint Laurent clutch once, it was a bachlorlette trip. You don’t get to judge me), and endless receipts I’ve accumulated shopping, I have found my purse as a reflection of me. In other words, well-prepared.

I found this stunning clutch in Rome, Italy. It’s chic, one of a kind, and has no designer label visible. I won’t share with you who it’s made by because I think unlabeled suits her best. She was perfectly meant for me, and I’ve dismissed all my designer brands for this bad beauty. She’s made of tweed, with intricate detailed beading, one pocket for coins, and she compliments any outfit. I have also gotten theee most compliments on this clutch from both men and women.

My day to day life is chaotic. (If you’ve seen my message inbox, you’d understand) From a Pilates/gym session to bouncing between two work locations straight into happy hour, then I’m rushing to dinner because I always get suckered into having two glasses instead of one at HH. On average, I can easily drive 30 miles a day all over the city so I need my purse to be ready for anything at any hour.

So what’s she packing?

1. I have a giant paper clip that holds airfare tickets, train stubs, business cards, hotel cards, gift cards, my passport, receipts etc. Anything paper related I pack together so it doesn’t get crinkled. I carry my passport because sometimes I book trips for the next day/weekend, and I need information in it for booking purposes.
2. Teasing comb + Amika Dry Shampoo.
3. Saint Laurent card holder.
4. Dollar Dollar Bills. I valet a lot when hopping from happy hour to dinner.
5. Hand Sanitizer + Kinu Hand Cream.
6. Vitamins.
7. I easily carry a minimum of 4 lip products. Tom Ford Scarlet Rouge is my go to Red. Matte only please. Laura Mercier Plum berry is my neutral lip liner.
8. Eau Thermale Avène Sunscreen Lotion spf 50+.
9. iPhone USB cord + power adapter.
10. Anker PowerCore Portable Charger. Game changer.
11. iphone8 + iphoneXs Max. Yes, I carry two phones. In my opinion, the 8 is better.
12. PerriconeMD travel serum concentrate packet. Post work rejuvenation before makeup-retouch.
13. Perfume. It’s a secret. I’ll never share it with you.
14. Work badge.
15. Fresh Lavender. A reminder of Paris.
16. Apple Air pods.
17. Renu Eye-drops + a second pair of contacts. Very essential.
18. La Mer travel size Treatment Lotion + Eye concentrate. After work, Preoutting skin prep.
19. Squalane oil. Especially after any Microdermbrasion treatment I’ve had ( I get every two weeks)
20. Pens. A lot of Pens.
21. Jewelry. An assortment of rings.
22. Cartier bracelet lock. Usually kept inside my cardholder for safe keeping.
23. Quarters. When I don’t valet, I meter. Meter likes quarters. I don’t like parking tickets.
24. Keys. I switch cars depending weather, day of the week, and social outing.
25. Camera. Now that I am documenting my days, I’ve recently added this back in.
26. Sunglasses. New thing for me, not really into it. Will probably ditch it. Mainly used for when I sit at the park after a run.
27. Hair clips.
28. Inhaler. Because asthma doesn’t like to have fun.
29. Business cards + appointment cards.

And if you’re wondering. Yes, she thick. My bag, that is. Ask any of my girlfriends, and they’ll tell you. Anything unique in your purse? Do you hoard pens too?

With love,
L.
